Neo Black Movement of Africa (NBM) has donated food items and N5 million cash to support victims of the recent flooding in Borno.
Speaking at the Government House, Maiduguri, NBM National President Olorogun Ese Kakor stated that providing succor to vulnerable persons, especially those displaced by the flooding, is part of nation-building.
The donated items include 400 tubers of yam, 100 bags of rice, 50 bags of beans, and other essentials.
Kakor noted, “Although this may seem little, we know it will go a long way in cushioning the effects of the flood.”
He also highlighted NBM’s commitment to promoting African cultures and traditions globally.
He said NBM has also provided humanitarian support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nasarawa, Benue, Kaduna, Imo, Delta, Bayelsa, Abia, Anambra, Edo, Ondo, Rivers, and Cross River States.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum commended NBM for the donation, urging other organizations to emulate this gesture.
Represented by Borno Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijjani, Zulum expressed gratitude for NBM’s kind gesture, emphasising that it’s not just about the quantity of items but the spirit behind it.
The NBM delegation visited Shehu’s Palace, where the president promised support for reviving the rich culture of Kanuri/Kanem Borno.
They also visited the Bakassi IDP camp to sympathize with the victims who are yet to settle back into their communities.
