Andre Onana showed exactly why Manchester United forked out £47 million to recruit him with one passage of play against Borussia Dortmund.
The Cameroonian made his second appearance for United after joining from Inter Milan as the Red Devils lost 3-2 to Borussia Dortmund at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
He impressed in his debut against Real Madrid, immediately showcasing his qualities as a modern day goalkeeper by taking up a high starting position and playing out from the back.
The former Ajax man replaced Tom Heaton at half-time of the defeat to Dortmund and immediately made his presence felt when he darted out of his goal to scream at Harry Maguire after a sloppy pass meant he had to deny Sebastien Haller.
And at the very end of the game, Onana proved he is a massive upgrade on David de Gea when he produced a sensational pass.
The 27-year-old caught the ball and out of his hands, pinged it right onto the foot of Marcus Rashford down the left flank.
This wasn't an aimless punt up the pitch, the pace and precision was perfect as it sailed over the full-backs head and right into the England forward's path.
Rashford touched the ball down but looked like he was appealing for a foul and the full-time whistle was blown shortly after.
However this pass should not be slept on and could be a sign of things to come for United this season.
One fan wrote: "He will expose so many of our outfielders technical ability lol. They can’t hide behind the previous goalkeeper excuse now."
A second said: "Onana will be spraying those passes every match. Rashford, you better start brushing up on your ball control."
A third added: "We really have a keeper who can make one pass that could see us break through and score."
A fourth simply commented: "Manchester United's deep lying attacking goalkeeper."
A final user weighed in: "Onana will expose all the frauds this season."
